Greenbrier Valley Academy IS an education provider with the Hope Scholarship.
West Virginia has established an education savings account program that allows families to choose the best learning experience for their children. This scholarship provides financial assistance for tuition, fees, and other expenses for K-12 students who apply for the scholarship and are accepted. The scholarship amount for the 2023-24 year will be $4,488.82, but will fluctuate annually.
To qualify for the Hope Scholarship Program
A student must be a West Virginia resident and be one of the following:
- Entering Kindergarten for the upcoming school year (age 5 by July 1st), OR
- Currently enrolled in West Virginia Public School. The student must be enrolled in public school for 45 calendar days before they can apply.
The application window is March 1st – May 15th. Do not miss the window!
Incoming Kindergarten Students: (Age 5 by July 1st, a 6-year-old may attend Kindergarten)
· Fill out a Notice of Intent (NOI) form. Put “Incoming Kindergarten Student” under the section titled: “WVEIS ID#” on the form.
· Email the NOI to Debbie Fogus, Greenbrier County’s Attendance Secretary at: dfogus@K12.wv.us and the county will assign your child a WVEIS ID# after receiving your NOI.
· Once you have your WVEIS #, submit the application by going to www.hopescholarshipwv.com and following the link to apply on the EMA portal.
Current Public School Students:
· Find your student’s current WVEIS ID#. If you don’t know it, your student’s current pubic school will have it.
· Once you have your student's WVEIS #, submit the application by going to www.hopescholarshipwv.com and following the link to apply on the EMA portal.
· Wait for approval. Do not withdraw your student from Public School until you have received your approval notification.
· Turn in your Notice of Intent (NOI) to Greenbrier County BOE. (Debbie Fogus: dfogus@K12.wv.us)
